 Welsh Quality Assured

We are situated in the Cambrian mountains and feel that the focus of our food needs to reflect our surroundings.

Our menu is designed with that in mind and is 'real', good quality, good value, well presented food.

We are open all day from 0800 onwards, so if you want breakfast, morning coffee, bar lunch please drop by.  From 6pm onwards sample our very popular a la carte menu which is updated on a daily basis to cater for the changes in seasons and availability of foods.

Welsh Tapas

This is a delightful take on Welsh fusion cuisine and offers the tasoter a number of rustic Welsh dishes and grazing platters that have been sourced locally and showcase the wonderful diversity of the region.Booking is essential

Afternoon Tea

A nod to the Victorian heritage afternoon tea is served mid afternoon with a selection of cakes, scones and freshly prepared sandwiches a lovely opportunity to spend some time with friends and can be made extra special with the addition of some sparkling wine or Pimms & lemonade. A great girly birthday treat! Booking is essential.

Our Food Suppliers

At Simply Welsh we really like food! We like to know where it comes from, how it tastes, try new ways to prepare it and most importantly introduce other people to new tastes!

All dietary needs are catered for

and offered a variety of dishes that embrace taste and seasonality.

Gerry is a fan of recipe books! he is always on the lookout for new and  exciting ways to cook and to pass it on. We are hoping to set up a  series of recipes that he has used in the restaurant so that you can cook them at home.

Gerry has sourced the majority of the meat locally from excellent farms and vendors:

Bob the Butcher ; a Rhayader butcher with excellent quality meat and their own cutting plant.

Graig Farm Organics ; Again a multi-award winning producer in the hills between Rhayader and the border.

Wild Swan Organics , Rhayader

Radnor Water , Knighton,

Tyrells Crisps , Hereford

Mary’s Farmhouse Ice Cream , Pembrokeshire

Castell Howell, Crosshands

Clun Farm, Craven Arms.

We get our veg & fruit from the local markets where we have forged relationships over the years and are always met with a firm handshake and a smile.

We are also lucky enough to collect local 'wild' food in the right seasons from trusted sources: mushrooms, damsons, wimberries, trout are just a few of the offerings that we have gathered.

Brynafon reserves the right to change these prices at any time. These are subject to availability and food prices at the time of purchase.
